We have compiled a list of our top 10 rarest Pokemon cards. This post will not change like some other posts, but we will do others like it in the future.
Starting at number 10.
This card was found at a garage sale, it is one of my favorite shiny Pokemon that was on a card (at the time), and was very fortunate to find it.
First edition Dark Slowbro:
This card was picked from a large collection of old Pokemon cards. This person had multiple Dark Slowbro, but this was the only first edition.
Secret Rare Pikachu:
This card is from the black and white base set. We have every card in this set except for two! We bought 1 random booster pack at the store, off the shelf, and out popped this little gem!
We pulled this card from a pack a long time ago. At the time we didn’t know what we had but a couple of years later we realized it was shiny! Good thing we held onto it.
Primal Kyorge EX full art:
This card was pulled by my little brother in a pack. It is a very cool card, and very desirable.
Secret rare Retro Moltres:
This card was pulled a long time ago, and we were sure we had a rare card, but didn’t know how rare of a card it was until some time later.
Base set Blastoise:
This was picked from the same collection as the Dark Slowbro. This is probably the second most desirable base set card (the first is Charizard) and is extremely difficult to find! This is the only one we have ever come across, and we were lucky enough to get it.
Mega Charizard EX:
This card was pulled by the same brother that pulled the Kyogre. Mega Charizard is one of the most powerful Pokemon cards ever! Both Mega Charizard X and Y do 300 damage, enough to K.O. any Pokemon card (without other cards or effects boosting the other Pokemon). They both look awesome, but I think Mega Charizard X looks cooler.
Mewtwo EX full art:
My heart literally stopped for 5 seconds when I pulled this out of a tin. This is the rarest card in the Next Destinies set. For some reason this card is rarer then the other EX full arts in this set.
Magcargo Error card:
The orange card is the error, and the red one is the normal card for comparison. This card was pulled by my brother (not the one who pulled the Kyogre), and we weren’t really sure why this card was orange, and not red? After further examination it looks like all the red ink is missing from the card resulting in an orange color. And to make this card even cooler it is a reverse holo! how cool is that!
