Today a trailer was released for Pokemon GO revealing some new Pokemon in Pokemon GO. So far Shiny Pokemon have not shown up in the update. Other Pokemon from Gen 2 will slowly start to go live in the next few months. All stats were datamined before the update.

8 new gen 2 Pokemon are now avalible in Pokemon GO. These include Pichu and Togepi as shown in the trailer. All of these Pokemon are only obtainable through eggs, except for the few that are not in the game yet, and costume Pikachu and Raichu.

#172 Pichu

Pichu is obtainable through 2km eggs, this may be the only way to obtain it since it is a baby Pokemon. It can evolve into Pikachu for 25 Pikachu candy.

From Today until December 29th a special Pikachu will be roaming the world. All Pikachu found during the event will be wearing a festive hat. It is unconfirmed if the hat will stay throughout the year, but it probably will.

If you evolve your Costume Pikachu into a Raichu then it too will be wearing a festive hat.
